Dr Lincoln Tan is a Consultant Urologist and accredited Robotic Surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, with special interest in the treatment of all types of prostate conditions, having treated many affected patients over the years.

Experience

  • Postgraduate surgical degrees from Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2006 and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (RCPSG) in 2011.
  • Masters in Surgery from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2007.
  • Completed Advanced Specialty Training at National University Hospital (NUH).
  • College of Surgeons Gold Medal from the Academy of Medicine Singapore.
  • Completed his fellowship in Urologic Oncology and Laparoscopic and Tele-Robotic Urologic Surgery at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in 2013.

Dr Tan's subspecialty is focused on providing care for men with prostate cancer, with an emphasis on advanced diagnostic techniques to reduce unnecessary prostate biopsies. He led the first local study that validated the effectiveness of the Prostate Health Index (PHI) in better identifying men at risk of prostate cancer to reduce unnecessary biopsies. Dr Tan's expertise in this field ensures that his patients receive appropriate care for prostate cancer.

Men's Health Advocate

Dr Tan is a passionate advocate for Men’s Health and Prostate Cancer patients. He actively participates in the Movember fundraising campaigns and organises many educational talks for the public and primary care physicians.

He keeps actively involved in prostate cancer survivorship issues. Once the organising chairman for Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, Dr Tan currently performs his role as Chairman of the Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) Prostate Cancer Survivorship Programmes Advisory Committee.

Nurturing The Next Generation of Doctors

Just as Dr Tan learnt from groups of highly capable doctors, he pays this kindness forward by being a guide and role model to future generations of doctors and urologists.

  • Examiner for both undergraduates and postgraduates at NUS.
  • Member of the JCST Examination Committee for Urology, which develops and implements the exit examination for local urology specialists.
  • Faculty of the Asian Urological Surgery Training and Education Group (AUSTEG).
  • Delivered lectures on prostate cancer care across the region, including Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Philippines, and Nepal.
